Mehrdad Oladi: I Intend to Play in 2014 FIFA World Cup
Mehrdad Oladi, the former striker of Persepolis FC, said on Tuesday that he is interested to play for Iran national football team in 2014 FIFA World Cup. Oladi has already played for Team Melli, but in recent years he has failed to attract the attentions of Iran’s head coaches.
Talking to local media, Mehrdad Oladi announced that he will select his next football club conservatively. “I intend to play for Iran national football team in World Cup. So I must join one of the best football clubs in Iran in order to attract the attentions of Team Melli’s coaches.”
In 2012-13 season, he played for Malavan and appeared in 24 matches. However, his relationship with team officials was not positive. “Currently, I have received offers from Saipa, Mes and Naft. I started the initial negotiations with Naft Tehran club. I don’t want to repeat the same mistakes in my new club, so I will try hard to wear the best outfit in coming season.” Oladi added.
“I may join Naft Tehran because it has better conditions in compare to other clubs. As this team is based in Tehran, I will be able to show my skills better than before.” Mehrdad Oladi, 28, concluded.
The former player of Persepolis had also played for Emirates-based football club, Al-Shabab. It is worth mentioning that Oladi was a member of Iran national under-23 football team that participated at the 2006 Asian Games. He made his debut in 3 September 2010 against China.
