Masoud Jazayeri Downplays Role of U.S. Government in Middle East
A senior Iranian commander says the U.S. government should try to recover its reputation, as the country no longer maintains its former influence the Middle East region. During the recent years, the Iranian government and conservative officials have repeatedly downplayed the important role of U.S. government in Middle East.
Addressing a group of military commanders at Tehran, Brigadier General Massoud Jazayeri said: “The U.S. government has failed to manage the military and social scenes of the Middle Eastern states appropriately. In my opinion, President Barack Obama should start pursuing new policies with regard to the Middle East region.”
“Dominating Syria and Egypt is the main intention of Israel and the United States. These governments are spending large amount of money to support different political parties and terrorist groups in the mentioned countries. But it seems this kind of scheme is no longer working.” Iran’s Armed Forces Deputy Chief of Staff Brigadier General Massoud Jazayeri said on Tuesday.
Iranian General believes that the U.S government is also looking to damage Islamic Republic of Iran through different channels.
“Over the past few years, Western governments have imposed economic embargoes on Islamic Republic of Iran under the excuse of nation’s nuclear case. Although these sanctions make troubles and huge problems for the Iranian government, we will not suspend the peaceful nuclear plan.”
Brigadier General Massoud Jazayeri says Iran is always ready to meet with new difficulties and hardships. “These restrictions and sanctions have turned Iran into a strong country in Middle East. In fact, a few countries in the world are not happy with the performance of Islamic Republic, which threatens their interests in the region.”
“I also personally praise the resistance of Iranian nationals against these plots. Iranians have always acted wisely with regard to such dangers threaten the existence of Islamic Republic of Iran.” General Massoud Jazayeri concluded.
