Iranian General: Egyptian People are the Real Winners of Political Developments
Head of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Public Relations Department General Ramezan Sharif says Egyptian people will be the real winners of current political developments in that country.
“The government of Morsi didn’t allow Egyptian youngsters to take the power in that country. In fact, Mohammad Morsi was trying to only work his fellows from Muslim Brotherhood party. However, the people of Egypt were not happy with Morsi’s recent decisions.” General Ramezan Sharif addressed reporters in a press-conference on Saturday.
General Ramezan Sharif believes that Mohammad Morsi was looking to establish friendly ties with Israel and the United States. But Egyptian people were opposed to foreign intervenes in their country. “Egyptians are interested in recovering their identity and independence. They are no longer interested in having relationships with Israel and the other Western governments. Morsi took false policies with regard to this fact.”
“I personally believe that Muslim Brotherhood failed to satisfy Egyptian people. The radical political party didn’t support people’s views and this led to the current failure for Muslim Brotherhood.” Ramezan Sharif added.
Iranian General also went on to reiterate that Israel and U.S. were involved in political developments of Egypt. “We should not forget the pivotal role of U.S. and Israel in recent crisis of Egypt.”
During the past months, Islamic Republic of Iran supported Mohammad Morsi. It was being rumored that Morsi wants to duplicate Iran’s 1979 Islamic Revolution in Egypt. Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei had earlier announced that Egyptian youngsters were getting ideas from Iranian Revolution.
