Goran Lovre Happy to Play for Ghalenoei at Esteghlal
Goran Lovre, the former player of Groningen, has recently joined Iran’s Esteghlal FC. After the departure of Mojtaba Jabbari, who was the major playmaker of Esteghlal, the team has faced numerous troubles. According to local media reports, Goran Lovre is expected to change the conditions for Esteghlal and Amir Ghalenoei.
Regarding the conditions of Esteghlal, Goran Lovre said: “Esteghlal are one of the most popular football clubs of Iran and Asia. The team has managed to win the title of AFC Champions League for two times, and we will fight for the third championship in this season. Fans, coaches, players and even the staffers of the club are always talking about this tournament.”
“I believe that Esteghlal have an exceptional chance for winning the title of AFC Champions League. Players and coaches are working hard on daily basis. To be honest we are all determined to make the history.” Goran Lovre told reporters on Monday.
The Serbian footballer also talked about his relations with Amir Ghalenoei. “I have discussed my conditions with him at training sessions. It seems he is happy with my job, and I will do my best to keep him satisfied.”
Until now, the player has not played for Esteghlal. “Currently, I am completely ready to play for the team. It depends on the head coach and technical cadre.” The former player of Anderlecht added.
When asked about his playing style, Lovre replied: “I can play as a playmaker and attacking midfielder for Esteghlal. I personally believe that I’m good in assisting goals and creating great opportunities for forwards. During the recent years, I have only played as playmaker, so I’m sure that I can help Esteghlal in the best possible way.”
Goran Lovre, 31, started his youth career at Partizan in 1991. From 2006 to 2010, he was one of the best midfielders of Groningen, where he succeeded to score 23 goals in 128 matches played for the team.
