Tehran’s Ambassador to Lebanon Reiterates Support for Jihadist Groups
Today, the embassy of Iran in Lebanon held a testimonial ceremony in honor of Mostafa Chamran. Chamran used to serve as a commander in Islamic Revolution Guardians Corpse (IRGC) during the eight years war between Iran and Iraq. He had also led a few Jihadist groups of Lebanon and Palestine in early 1980s.
During this ceremony, ambassador of Iran in Lebanon Ghadanfar Rokn Abadi reiterated Iran’s support for all Jihadist groups aiming to fight against Israel. “Islamic Republic has not changed its policy against Israel. We will support all Jihadist groups in Lebanon and Palestine both financially and technically. Iranian government and army will be always committed to the guidelines of Ayatollah Khameni and Khomeini.” Several months ago Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei announced his support for Jihadist groups in public for the first time.
“Mostafa Chamran alongside with other martyrs is the best role model for youth generations of Lebanon, Syria and Palestine. These people fought against worldwide imperialism and offered their best services in this way.” Ghadanfar Rokn Abadi paid tribute to Chamran and his late fellows.
He also went on to describe the situations of Iran’s Islamic Revolution which happened in 1979 by toppling monarchy system of Iranian late Shah. “A few countries in world have tried to defame Islamic Revolution from its early days. Israel in cooperation with the United States has already done what it could to damage the reputation of Islamic Republic between people. In fact, they have failed to achieve any of their goals. At the time being, Islamic Republic of Iran has a pivotal role in the regional and international issues.”
