Persepolis Cancel Karim Ansarifard’s Deal
Ali Daei, the head coach of Persepolis FC, announced on Friday that the club is no longer interested in the services of Karim Ansarifard, who had already left team camp. On 17 June 2012, Ansarifard joined Persepolis but he failed to satisfy coaches during the last season.
“As soon as I was selected as the head coach of Persepolis, I urged team officials to renew the contract of Ansarifard. But negotiations failed and Karim’s conditions were totally unbearable for me and the club.” Ali Daei noted during a live TV show.
Karim Ansarifard has earlier claimed that he had received offers from German and Spanish clubs. “I asked him to accept those offers and join the European clubs, if he has really received those fantastic offers. This is better for his future.” Ali Daei added.
Daei went on to say that the Tehran-based football club will not extend Karim’s deal. “Unfortunately, Ansarifard didn’t join pre-season training sessions, and I personally prefer to not work with such players. His heart and mind were not with Persepolis. So I can confirm that he won’t be a part of the team in upcoming season.”
It is worth mentioning that Ansarifard’s playing style and ability have drawn comparisons to Ali Daei (the coach who scouted him) and he was declared as Daei’s “successor”. During his spell in Saipa, Karim Ansarifard used to be one of the best strikers of Iran Pro League.
