Mohammad Royanian: Iranian Football Clubs can Take Advantage of Multiple Revenue Sources
Mohammad Royanian, the president and managing director of Persepolis FC, says Iranian football clubs can make money via different methods. Iran-based football clubs have not ever managed to earn money like the European clubs.
“I believe that current infrastructures and facilities are enough for clubs to start making money from their activities in football. At the time being, major European football clubs are following working business plans, which allow them to invest in this sport more effeciently.” Mohammad Royanian told reporters after signing a new sponsorship deal with a local private-held bank in the country.
“Unfortunately, the managers of other clubs have not tried to market their various sponsorship plans. I recommend all Iranian football clubs to recruit professional marketers and project managers in the hope of maximizing their revenues via different routes.” Royanian declared.
Persepolis FC is a state-owned football club in Iran. The Iranian government allocates certain budget to Persepolis FC annually. “According to deals and agreements, we managed to attract investments from local companies. For this season, the revenues of Persepolis FC will be increased by 20 to 30 percent.” Mohammad Royanian added.
Gardeshgari Bank will be the official sponsor of Persepolis for 2013-14 season. “Starting today, we will try to find new sponsors for the team. We need more money to establish the best club of Iran.” Persepolis president concluded. He didn’t reveal the financial details of the deal between his side and Gardeshgari Bank.
