Mehmanparast: Rowhani’s Election is a New Opportunity for Western Governments
Under Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Iran and Western countries failed to establish positive relationships and ties. Local politicians of Iran have earlier anticipated that the new president Hassan Rowhani will be able to change the current conditions.
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Ramin Mehmanparast said on Wednesday that Rowhani’s election is a ‘new opportunity for Western governments to revise their hostile policies against the Iranian nation’.
“By respecting rights of Iranians and not intervening in internal matters of Islamic Republic, Western governments can establish better ties with the government of Iran. Islamic Republic has always reiterated its willing for having constructive relationships with other countries including Western states.” Ramin Mehmanparast remarked during an interview on Wednesday.
When asked about the recent developments of the Middle East region, he went on to reply: “A part of the crises of Arab states is because of the presence of American agents in those countries. We kindly urge the officials of the United States government to stop meddling in internal affairs of Middle Eastern countries. However, the managers and governors of these states should also be alarmed in regard to this problem.”
Regarding the nuclear case of Iran under Hassan Rowhani, Ramin Mehmanparast said: “Iran will always insist on its legal right for utilizing nuclear energy for peaceful and civil purposes. Islamic Republic will not change this premise.”
Hassan Rowhani has already announced that he will negotiate with the officials of U.S. government over Iran’s nuclear case provided that he wins the election. Now, many analysts inside and outside the country are closely monitoring Rowhani.
