Mahmoud Ahmadinejad Criticized for Rewarding IRIB
Last week, Ezzatollah Zarghami, head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), held a ceremony at Tehran to praise Mahmoud Ahmadinejad for his services during the recent eight years. Analysts have already criticized the managers of IRIB for holding that ceremony. They argue that Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was not deserved to receive such admirations from IRIB.
In a blatant move, Ahmadinejad announced on yesterday that IRIB is the new owner of some valuable estates in Tehran. Many say this was a clear reward and bribe to IRIB for holding that ceremony.
“Ahmadinejad should not have taken this action. Even if it was for another intention, he must do it earlier. In last eight years, Iranian government was able to give these estates to IRIB, but they did that only a week after IRIB’s ceremony for Ahmadinejad.” Akbar Torkan, deputy of Iran’s next president, said on Thursday.
The ground of Tehran International Fair has been bestowed by Iranian government to IRIB. “By finalizing this transfer, we need to build a new place for international exhibitions in Tehran. However, the location of the fair was fantastic and unique. It is really hard to find another similar place for Tehran International Fair.” Akbar Torkan reiterated. He also mentioned that several governmental organizations were trying to acquire these estates because of their real value and unique locations.
“Unfortunately, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has done similar actions in past. According to our information, Iranian government has violated rules with regard to bestowing estates to governmental and non-governmental organizations against laws. I kindly urge the members of parliament to review these kinds of measures.” Akbar Torkan concluded.
