Khorram Pays Tribute to New Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif
Ali Khorram, an Iranian political analyst, says Mohammad Javad Zarif can help Islamic Republic of Iran to resolve its common problems with world powers and Arab states. Based on local media reports, Hassan Rouhani is expected to present Zarif as the next foreign minister of Iran.
“At the time being, Zarif is the best person for this post. Iran is badly suffering from its poor relations with the European and American countries. According to Zarif’s past experiences, he can definitely help the Iranian government to change the conditions positively.” Ali Khorram said in an interview with local media on Monday.
Answering a question regarding the future of Iran’s political ties, Khorram replied: “In my opinion, Mohammad Javad Zarif is the only person who can take Iran out of this stalemate in its political ties with other countries. He is indeed capable of doing great jobs.”
The Iranian scholar criticized the government of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad for pursing wrong foreign policies. “Unfortunately the misunderstandings between Iran and world powers caused a large number of problems for Islamic Republic.”
“Zarif has previously served as Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations. He used to live in the United States, and he is familiar with the Western culture too. These specifications will help him to do his job in the best possible way.” Ali Khorram added.
According to Khorram, Mohammad Javad Zarif can also handle Iran’s nuclear case properly. “He has enough experiences in this field because of his past careers. I believe that he can play a pivotal role in resolving the nuclear case.”
It is good to know that Zarif was Permanent Representative of Iran to the United Nations from 2002 to 2007. He attended the Josef Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver and obtained a Ph.D. in International Law and Policy.
