Farhad Majidi Joins Esteghlal Training Sessions
Farhad Majidi, the captain of Esteghlal FC, joined the training sessions of his team for the first time in recent weeks. In the beginning of June, Majidi left Tehran for London in order to pursue his coaching degree in British academies. He then spent some time in UAE with his family.
“Starting today, I will concentrate only on Esteghlal FC. All the players of Esteghlal are determined to win AFC Champions League title in the coming season.” Farhad Majidi told reporters on Saturday. Esteghlal has qualified for quarter-final of AFC Champions League. The Tehran-based football club has previously won this title twice in its history.
Regarding the conditions of Esteghlal FC, Majidi said: “Dozens of Esteghlal players have served for national football team in last three matches. Now they are recovering themselves. I think all players will be ready to play for the team till the beginning of Persian Gulf League’s new season.”
“I am intended to end my professional career in Esteghlal FC. I have not set any tough conditions for the officials of Esteghlal. So I will give my 100% to the club in next season.” Majidi added. The current contract of Farhad with Esteghlal is valid for one more season.
In mid-season transfer window of last season, Majidi re-joined Esteghlal FC as a free agent player. However, he had accepted to sign with Esteghlal at the beginning of the previous season, but Amir Ghalenoei set tough conditions for him in regard to captaincy of the club. Majidi was named the best purchase of Esteghlal in last season.
