Edmond Bezik has his Sights on Top-Three Spot
Iranian giants Persepolis have failed to win any significant title over the past few years. The Persepolis fans are currently dreaming about winning the Iran Pro League title in this season.
Edmond Bezik, the former striker of Persepolis FC, says the team has different situations in this year. He also believes the managing director of Persepolis was relatively successful in transfer window.
“In pre-season transfer window, the managers of Persepolis have succeeded to sign with young but professional and experienced players who can help the team in the best possible way. However, the players are not currently matched in proper order,” Bezik remarked in an interview with local media on Friday.
“The officials of Persepolis were always looking to bring ‘super-star’ players to the team in recent years. But it seems they have understood the correct policy. The young players of Persepolis can stay in this team for a long-time, and this element will guarantee the success of Persepolis in next seasons,” the retired Armenian-Iranian footballer said.
“Ali Daei is a great coach, and he has already managed Iran’s national team and Rah Ahan FC. He is actually capable of leading Persepolis to the championship of Iran Pro League, but he needs more time in order to achieve his long-term goals,” Bezik continued. Edmond Bezik used to play with Ali Daei, the head coach of Persepolis FC, in Iran’s national team.
The Tehran-based football club has garnered 10 points out of 5 matches. “The players of Persepolis have several weak points, and Ali Daei should try to fix them as soon as possible. However, other football teams in Iran are also taking advantage of satisfactory facilities, and they are moving forward on daily basis,” Bezik added.
According to Edmond Bezik, the overall quality of Iran Pro League has improved over the years. “In my opinion, nobody can predict the winner of Iran Premier League. In recent decade, Sepahan Isfahan FC have won the IPL title for three times, but in this season they have lost many points in the first five weeks of the league. By the way, I think Esteghlal and Persepolis have great chance of winning the Iran Pro League title.”
