Ebrahim Sadeghi: Saipa is the Best Football Club in Iran
Ebrahim Sadeghi, the captain of Saipa, has extended his contract with the Tehran-based football club until 2015. Sadeghi is playing for Saipa since 2000.
“I decided to renew my contract with Saipa, because I have only played for this club in my whole career. I have managed to establish friendly ties with the officials and coaches of Saipa, and these connections are very important for me.” Ebrahim Sadeghi said on Wednesday.
Sadeghi declared that he had received numerous offers from other clubs. “To be honest, I always receive invitations and offers from the other teams competing in Iran Pro League. But I prefer to continue my career at Saipa, because this is the best club and most appropriate side for me. I am also interested in finishing my career at Saipa.”
In 2010, Saipa Cultural and Athletic Corporation celebrated a testimonial ceremony for him because of “his loyalty to the club”, calling him The Orange Loyal.
“I appeared in 32 matches for Saipa last season. We finished 9th, but I am satisfied with my overall performance. All the players and coaches are determined to finish this season with a better position in compare to last season.” Ebrahim Sadeghi, 35, continued.
Regarding the new head coach of Sepahan, Engin Firat, Sadeghi said: “He used to work at Saipa seven years ago. Ali Daei had repeatedly paid tribute to Engin Firat for his great training sessions. If he receives enough supports from the managers of Saipa, he will be able to help the team in the best possible way.”
The captain of Sepahan also talked about the tough competition of Iran Premier League. “Sepahan, Esteghlal, Foolad and Persepolis have done well in pre-season transfer window. These clubs have succeeded to hire high quality players. In my opinion, one of these teams will claim the title of Iran Pro League. The other teams will try to get qualified for AFC Champions League.”
