Carlos Queiroz to Prepare Team Melli for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil
Iran national football team qualified for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil last month. The remarkable success was acclaimed by local coaches and analysts. Iran has already appeared in three FIFA World Cups, but it was always eliminated in group stage.
“First of all, I want to express my sincere happiness of Iran’s qualification to 2014 FIFA World Cup. To be honest, Iran national football team was deserved to take part in upcoming FIFA World Cup, as the players and coaches offered their best services during the recent months.” Mehdi Mohammad Nabi, General Secretary of Iran Football Federation, remarked in a press-conference on Friday.
Nabi went on to say that the success of Team Melli in FIFA World Cup is among the top priorities of Iran’s Football Federation. “The Football Federation has scheduled a good plan in order to get the team ready for FIFA World Cup. As the only team qualified for this tournament from the West region of Asia, Iran should appear in 2014 World Cup in the best possible way.” The Football Federations of neighboring states have already declared their support for Iran national football team.
“In next few months, Iran will play friendly matches against world’s top teams. Currently, we are in the middle of finalizing the matches against top national teams such as Spain and Portugal.” Mehdi Mohammad Nabi told reporters.
Regarding the contract of Carlos Queiroz with Iran’s Football Federation, Nabi noted: “We have recently extended the contract of Carlos Queiroz until the end of 2014 FIFA World Cup. Queiroz is one of the most professional and experienced coaches in the world.”
