Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani: Iranians are Looking for Massive Changes
Ayatollah Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, a reformist politician in Iran, believes that Iranians are looking for changes, so they have elected Hassan Rowhani as the next president of the country. During the recent eight years, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad had failed to apply positive policies in his affairs.
Talking to a group of politicians in the holy city of Qom, Ayatollah Rafsanjani said: “The next government of Iran must face with numerous problems in different fields. In my humble opinion, all experts and analysts must help the new government to pass this critical time span.”
Ayatollah Rafsanjani also went on to talk about the conditions of country after the era of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad by saying: “The poor management of the previous government has caused many problems in Iran. Unfortunately, the current conditions of Iran’s economy are not satisfactory, and Hassan Rowhani must do what he could to rescue this nation. People of Iran are looking for a great change in management of country, so they have elected Rowhani.”
The victory of Hassan Rowhani in Iran’s 2013 presidential election was not anticipated by any local and foreign experts. Conservative nominees, like Mohsen Rezaei or Saeed Jalali, were in favor of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, but people voted to Hassan Rowhani.
It is good to mention that Ayatollah Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani also registered his name for 2013 election, but he was refused to run in presidential election by Guardians Council because of his age.
