Amir Hossein Sadeghi Calls on Fans to Support Esteghlal against Buriram
On August 21, Esteghlal will host Buriram FC in the quarterfinals of the AFC Champions League in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium. The Iranian giants have already won the title of ACL in 1970 and 1991. Analysts expect Esteghlal to win the AFC Champions League, as the players are enjoying remarkable harmony and unity.
Amir Ghalenoei, the head coach of Esteghlal, is currently preparing his players for the coming match. Addressing a press-conference on Sunday, Amir Hossein Sadeghi, the defender of Esteghlal, said: “Coaches have analyzed Buriram FC for us over the past few days. The Thai football club is one of the best teams in Asia, because they are taking advantage of high-quality European players in their squad. I strongly believe that we should not underestimate Buriram FC since they can make serious problems for Esteghlal FC.”
“Fans have always supported Esteghlal in the most difficult situations. We need to give them back their kindliness by doing our best in games. I hope they support Esteghlal against Buriram FC.” Iran international Sadeghi added.
Esteghlal is the most successful Iranian football club in Asian football competitions. With two titles in Asian Cup, there are two golden stars printed on the badge of the team official kit.
Recently, many players and coaches have started criticizing Uhlsport for supplying low-quality balls to Iran Pro League. Amir Hossein Sadeghi also made a comment in this regard. “It seems the Football Federation has approved the quality of these balls. As a matter of fact, these balls have serious problems. As they are in orange, players fail to trail them on sky. This kind of issues mostly annoys goalkeepers and defenders.”
It is worth mentioning that Uhlsport is also the official shirt manufacturer of Esteghlal FC. The Germany-based company is reportedly looking to penalize Esteghlal players for leaving negative feedbacks about Uhlsport’s products.
