Alireza Jahanbakhsh Praises NEC’s Facilities
Alireza Jahanbakhsh is the most recent Iranian football player who has joined a European club. Last month, he agreed to sign with the Dutch Eredivisie club NEC. Analysts suggest that this move will help him to advance his career.
“I did receive many offers from Iranian and Arab football clubs. But, I preferred to keep on my career in a Europe-based football club.” Jahanbakhsh told local media on Thursday.
“Before finalizing my contract with this club, I visited the facilities and infrastructures of NEC meticulously. Fortunately, the club has managed to provide top-notch opportunity to youth players. I’m happy with my choice.” Alireza Jahanbakhsh declared his satisfaction.
When asked if he intends to move to other European clubs in future, Jahanbakhsh replied: “I have signed a three-year contract with NEC. At first, I will try to become a fixed player in the starting line-up of NEC. At this time, I am not concentrating on moving to other European clubs.”
Regarding the conditions of his former club, Damash, Jahanbakhsh said: “Although this team lost two key players, the officials managed to sign with high quality footballers. I hope this team continues its successes in Iran’s Premier League. I also ask the officials of Gilan Province to support the club financially. Last year, we faced with some problems in this regard.”
Jahanbakhsh, 19, started his youth career at Payam Alborz Qazvin. In 2011, he moved to Damash Gilan. During his spell in Damash, Alireza Jahanbakhsh appeared in 42 matches and scored 10 goals.
