Aghily Demands more Respect from Team Melli Officials
The former defender of Iran national football team, Hadi Aghily, says he is unhappy with the decision of Carlos Queiroz over banning him from Team Melli. Prior to the 2015 Asian Cup Qualifying match against Lebanon, Hadi Aghily left the team camp because he knew he would not be in the starting lineup. This move caused the anger of Portuguese football manager.
“First of all, I am very happy with Iran’s qualification to 2014 FIFA World Cup. This will help us to improve the level of football in our country. However, I am totally unhappy with the behavior of Carlos Queiroz toward me. I used to be a fixed player of Team Melli for several years, and I was entitled to receive more respect from team officials.” Hadi Aghily told reporters on Thursday.
“I don’t want to put any pressure on Quiroz because he is a professional coach. I will try to give my best services to Sepahan FC in next season. If Queiroz invites me to Team Melli, I will be more than happy to take part in training sessions and possible games. However, it is totally depended on Carlos Queiroz.” Hadi Aghily added. The defender has recently penned a two year contract with the Isfahan-based football club, Sepahan.
Aghily went on to talk about the conditions of Sepahan. “Of course, this club is among top Asian clubs. Next season, we should compete in AFC Champions League while fighting for Iran’s Premier League title.”
